Twin Pines to re-open in Port

After months of cleaning, sorting and renovation, Port Washington Twin Pines Community Charitable Thrift Shop is reopening and ready for business.

Twin Pines Charitable Thrift Shop, located at 382 Main St. in Port Washington, will have a grand reopening on May 21 and 22 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Starting May 25, the store will go back to its regular hours of being open on Wednesday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Twin Pines, which was first opened in 1979, repairs and recycles household goods and redistributes food.

According to the Twin Pine’s Facebook page, its two goals are to redistribute food, clothing, and other household goods to children, seniors and others in need, and provide training and work experience for the challenged.

Twin Pines will also host a grand re-opening preview party on Friday, May 20 at 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at 382 Main St. in Port Washington.

Twin Pines owner Marie Marcellino said she’s looking forward to the re-opening and is still in need of volunteers.

“With these type of things you never know if 10 people will show up or 100,” Marcellino said.

The event is to appreciate the volunteers, contributors and advocates that worked the past few months on getting the business ready for its re-opening.

There will be food and refreshments and the community will learn how to be a part and volunteer.
