Adventureland Park Opens on a Daily Basis!

With the official start of summer on the 21st, Long Island’s amusement park since 1962 is now open daily, offering children a fun and exciting day on their thrill, kiddie and water rides, as well as attractions, games and more.  Here they can twirl and spin on Turbulence Coaster, Long Island’s largest and only spinning coaster, get spooked out in the Ghost House, float to the clouds in the Balloon Tower, and splash down Adventure Falls.

Family Fun Night — Strummin’ &
Drummin’ 

Friday, June 23, 6-7:30 p.m.
Children are sure to enjoy this fun and interactive musical night on the open grounds of Planting Fields Arboretum.  The event is free — no parking fee or registration is required.

Children’s Nature Film Festival Week
Saturday, June 24 and Tuesday, June 27 through Friday, June 30 at 11 a.m., 1 and 3 p.m.
Kids will enjoy this film series that explores the natural world around us and will focus on the puffin seabird (6/24), amphibians (6/27), bat adventures (6/28), bees (6/29) and plant pollination (6/30).

Children’s Author, Sandy Lanton

Saturday, June 24 at 4 p.m.
Children can come to this special story time where author Sandy Lanton will read from her book, “Still a Family: A Young Child’s Book About Divorce.” Lanton is a former teacher whose work has appeared in several anthologies. She is also the author of “Daddy’s Chair,” “The Littlest Levine” and more. Copies of her books will be available for purchase.

Ocean Adventures Camp

Monday, June 26 through
Friday, June 30, 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

Youngsters will join a different adventure each day, from the Arctic to the Galapagos. Campers will explore different animals, create crafts, participate in science experiments and more! Snacks are included. Register online via the museum’s website.
