Children’s Production: “Seussical”

Saturday, July 15 at 11:30 a.m.
This musical based on the stories of Dr. Seuss — mainly “Horton Hears a Who!,” “Horton Hatches the Egg” and “Miss Gertrude McFuzz” — has become a beloved classic for schools, communities, and regional theatres since its Broadway debut in 2000.  Now one of Long Island’s best live theaters will present a children’s performance of the show.

Plaza Theatrical Productions Presents: “The Little Mermaid”

Saturday, July 15 and Sunday, July 16 at 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. (with additional performances July 21-23)
Called “Long Island’s most prolific touring theatre company” by The New York Times, Plaza Theatrical Productions, Inc., will present “The Little Mermaid,” the Disney animated musical about of a beautiful mermaid princess who dreams of becoming human.

Cinema for Kids: “Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory”

Sunday, July 16 at 11 a.m.
To coincide with this film screening, the Cinema Arts Centre’s Sky Room Café will transform into a colorful, hand-painted Chocolate Factory where children may romp with a team of Fantastic Funhouse jesters! Kids 6-12 will be assisted by the jesters in making fresh, chocolate lollipops, going on a goody hunt in the Garden of Candy to fill treat bags, and learning art techniques through the use of crayon, paint, and the colorful chocolate itself. They will also receive a healthy snack after the movie and a souvenir coloring book with rainbow crayons and watercolors.

Summer Children’s Theatre Series: “Cinderella”

Empire State Fair

Thursday, July 20 through Saturday, July 29 (weeknights at 6 p.m.; weekends at 2 p.m.)
The Empire State Fair, presented by State Fair Group, will debut at NYCB Live’s Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum for an 11-day event that will feature live stage shows, family-fun activities, thrilling rides and attractions, and delicious food and treats.
