“An Inconvenient Sequel”

Friday, Aug. 4 through Thursday, Aug. 10 (daytime and evening showings)
Eleven years after “An Inconvenient Truth,” and just weeks after the U.S. pulled out of the global climate agreement, Al Gore returns with a powerful exploration of the current state of climate change.  In addition to screenings, there will be receptions with special guests who will discuss the riveting film and ongoing efforts for an energy revolution.

Farm to Table Evening at
The Barn at Orchard Hill

Friday, Aug. 4 at 6:30 p.m. (cocktail reception);
7:30 p.m. (dinner)

Enjoy a cocktail reception followed by a local-harvest, family-style dinner created by Kim Klopstock’s Lily and the Rose Catering of Saratoga Springs and New York City.  There will be live music provided by another local product, Long Island’s own Johnny Cuomo. The British Invasion
Friday, Aug. 4 at 7 p.m.

New Hyde Park will be the place to hear the classic music of two British rock legends, with Strawberry Fields performing a tribute to the Beatles and The Streetfighter Band paying homage to The Rolling Stones.  The concert is free and open to the public.

The Little River Band

Friday, Aug. 4 at 8 p.m.

One of the great vocal bands of the ‘70s and ‘80s, the Little River Band from Australia achieved chart success in America with singles, including “Help Is on Its Way,” “Lady” and “Reminiscing.”  Now fans on Long Island can enjoy this special, one-night show.

Stage Performance:
“A Midsummer Night’s Dream”

Friday, Aug. 4 and Saturday, Aug. 5 at 8 p.m.

This comedy written by William Shakespeare portrays the events surrounding the marriage of Theseus, the Duke of Athens, to Hippolyta, the former queen of the Amazons. These include the adventures of four young Athenian lovers and a group of six amateur actors who are controlled and manipulated by the fairies who inhabit the forest in which most of the play is set. The play is one of Shakespeare’s most popular works.

One Hot Night: The Ultimate
Neil Diamond Tribute
Saturday, Aug. 5 at 8 p.m.

Singer Tommy Lynn returns with Diamond — One Hot Night, a 10-piece band from New York that replicates Neil Diamond’s career from start to today, playing his classics from “Cracklin’ Rosie” and “September Morn,” to “America,” and the crowd-pleaser, “Sweet Caroline,” that is still regularly played at bars, weddings, karaoke nights and sporting events.

Mom’s Night Out Long Island
