The 68th Annual Hofstra
Shakespeare Festival

Friday, March 3 through Sunday, April 9 (afternoon and evening productions)

Attend the kick-off of this annual event, which began in 1950 with a production of Julius Caesar.  Throughout its’ long history, the festival has presented a varied selection of the plays of William Shakespeare, lesser-known short plays from the period, musicales, and scenes from Shakespeare’s plays performed by high school groups from the greater New York area. This year’s productions will include “Hamlet,” “The Bud of Love” and “The Complete Works of William Shakespeare,” all to take place on the new Globe Stage.

The Last Painting of Sara de Vos

This work is a mesmerizing story that charts the collision course between a rare landscape by a female Dutch painter of the golden age, an inheritor of the work in 1950s Manhattan, and a celebrated art historian who painted a forgery of it in her youth. Three interweaving locations and alternating timelines tell a suspenseful story of one painting’s rippling impact on three people over multiple centuries.

Movie trivia night

Movie Trivia Night
Monday, March 6 at 8 p.m. 

Trivia night will feature 60 questions based all around movies, actors and actresses, awards, and everything else associated with the world of film. Challenge like-minded film fans in a battle of wits  for cash and other prizes. You can have teams up to six people, so bring some friends and work together.  Or feel free to come alone where you can play solo or join a team. Tickets $5 per person .

Tea & Splendor — Great English Palaces and Gardens
