The Village of Great Neck Plaza will launch their VGNP Summer Concert Series this Tuesday, June 27 with one of Long Island’s hottest Latin Jazz groups, Latinology.

The concert will take place at 8 p.m. at Firefighters’ Park on Grace Ave.

Blending a roaring horn section, booming percussions and silky smooth vocals, Latinology’s range of music is one that will have concert-goers feeling good all night long.

Mayor Jean Celender said, “From the very first note, Latinology captivates their crowd. Compounded with their alluring stage presence, Latinology will undoubtedly have concert-goers on their feet dancing to the music.”

A dynamic music ensemble, Latinology fuses salsa, merengue, cha-cha, bachata, rumba and bolero with the sounds of jazz, soul and pop.

Their Latin arrangements in both English and Spanish have an irresistible blend of sophistication and fire.

From the jazzy ballads of Frank Sinatra and Tony Bennett, to the salsa beats of Tito Puente and Eddie Palmieri, to the funky soulfulness of Earth, Wind and Fire and Stevie Wonder, Latinology plays the sounds that span generations.

In the case of inclement weather, the concert performance will be moved to the Great Neck Social Center at 80 Grace Ave.

Check with village staff at Village Hall on the day of the concert or call the Village after 5 p.m. at 516-482-4500 when they will have a recorded message if the day’s scheduled concert has been moved from Firefighters’ Park to the Social Center.

The Village will also post an announcement on their website, www.greatneckplaza.net, if the concert is moved indoors.

The Village has received support from the local business community for this year’s concert series, including Emanuel Entertainment Services/David Emanuel, Mindy Greenberg Realtor, Metropolitan Commercial Bank, Richland Management, Great Neck Diner, Nemat Development Group and North Shore Farms.
