Plenty for everyone at Landmark in April

While April is only 30 days on the calendar, it will be a packed month at the Jeanne Rimsky Theater at Landmark on Main Street, with both free and ticketed events for all ages and interests on tap over the next few weeks.

And it’s no April Fool’s joke that they have two shows scheduled for Saturday, April 1.

First up is the rollicking kids’ favorite, Hot Peas ‘N Butter, on April 1 at 11 a.m.

The Brooklyn-based band opens worlds of music to kids and adults alike.

Join Hot Peas ‘N Butter as they explore the traditional rhythms and music from Cuba to the Caribbean, to traditional rhythms from right here at home.

The ticket price includes a workshop on Friday evening, March 31.

For adults, the powerful and soulful voice of Morgan James will return with her Reckless Abandon tour on Saturday night, April 1 at 8 p.m.

Andy Allo will appear as a special guest.

Afternoon T.E.A., Landmark’s free series for seniors and retirees, presents piano music and storytelling by Stan Wiest on Wednesday, April 5 at 2 p.m.

No tickets or reservations required for this event, and doors open at 1:30 p.m. for refreshments.

Kim Russo, TV’s “Happy Medium,” takes the stage on Saturday, April 8 at 8 p.m. to share her psychic gifts.

There will be a VIP Meet & Greet option ($75) sold separately.

One Night of Queen, scheduled for Sunday, April 9 at 7 p.m., has been hailed as the world’s premiere Queen tribute band.

Gary Mullen & The Works have been performing to sold-out houses around the world for the past 12 years.

This band will definitely rock you!

Afternoon T.E.A. on Wednesday, April 12 at 2 p.m. will feature Marilyn Carminio’s multimedia presentation on the life and times of Sophia Loren and Marcelo Mastroianni, who starred together in “From Italy With Love.”

Solo Acoustic Richard Thompson’s event on Wednesday, April 19 at 7:30 p.m. is currently sold out, with wait list only.

Planetary Conversations from Main Street on Thursday, April, 20 at 7 p.m. is a stunning documentary film that challenges viewers to reconsider their relationship with their home, as well as the urgency to shift their mindset in the face of climate change.

A Q&A with the filmmakers follows the screening.

Rufus Wainwright on Friday, April 21 at 8 p.m. is also sold out and wait list only.

Broadway leading man Norm Lewis takes a night off from his dastardly deeds as off-Broadway’s latest “Sweeney Todd” for an evening at Landmark on Friday, April 28 at 8 p.m.

Expect to hear numbers from his most famous roles in “Les Miserables,” “Phantom of the Opera,” “Showboat,” “Porgy and Bess” and more.

Also happening at Landmark in April are productions by outside presenters, including “A Tribute to ABBA” on Saturday, April 22 at 8 p.m., a Friend Entertainment presents Dancing Dream, performing the classic group’s greatest hits.

The Music Man, a musical and timeless classic about Harold, Marian and the townspeople of Gary, Indiana, will be presented by the Community Synagogue Theater Company on Thursday, April 27 and Saturday, April 29 at 7:30 p.m., and on Sunday, April 30 at 1:30 and 5:30 p.m.
