Port Art Guild sets winter class schedule

The Art Guild of Port Washington announced its winter 2017 schedule of classes and workshops for children and adults.

The following classes and workshops will be offered for adults:

Mondays — Drawing: Get Sharp! for Beginners & Get Sharper! for Intermediates with Stephanie Navon-Jacobson (Eight weeks, beginning Jan. 23. Beginners 1 to 3:30 p.m., intermediates 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.)

Tuesdays — Oil Painting: Landscape Painting for beginners & intermediates with Paul Bachem (Six weeks, beginning Jan. 10. Beginners 1 to 4 p.m., Intermediates 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.)

Wednesdays — Watercolor for beginners & intermediates with Eileen Neville (Six weeks, beginning Jan. 11. Beginners noon to 2 p.m. Intermediates 9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.)

Thursdays — Oil Painting: The Still Life for All Levels with Frances Ianarella (Six weeks, beginning Jan. 12, 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.)

A four-day Watercolor Workshop for adults with internationally acclaimed artist Joyce Hicks will be offered June 22 to 25.

Workshops with artists Christine LaFuente (alla prima aainting), Christian White, Stephanie Navon-Jacobson (printmaking), Paul Bachem (plein air) and others are also being planned for 2017.

Save the date for a three-day Colored Pencil Workshop with artist and author Kristy Kutch from April 22-24, 2018.

The following classes and workshops will be offered for children:

Saturdays — Children’s Art Studio (ages 8 to 12), Six weeks, beginning Jan. 28, 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. ; Art Explorations (ages 5 to 7) six weeks, beginning Jan. 28, noon to 1:15 p.m.

Wednesdays — Children’s Art Studio (ages 8 to 12), Six weeks, beginning Jan. 25, 4 to 5:30 p.m.

Thursdays — Advanced Art Instruction for High School Students (ages 15 to 18), eight weeks, beginning Feb. 9, from 6 to 8 p.m.

Entries are being accepted for a juried photography exhibit, “From My Perspective,” until Jan. 13. It will be on exhibit from Feb. 4 to 26.

The artists’ reception will be Feb. 4 from 3 to 5 p.m. A “Works On Paper” exhibit is being planned for March 2016.
