Queen tribute band at Westbury on July 9

The Island Now

Almost Queen — the most authentic Queen live show since the days of Queen themselves — will be performing at the NYCB Theatre at Westbury on Saturday, July 9 at 8 p.m.

A deliberate four piece band, Almost Queen delivers a live performance showcasing signature four-part harmonies and intricate musical interludes.

Donning genuine costumes, Almost Queen recaptures the live energy and precision that is the penultimate Queen experience.

The band is Joseph Russo as Freddie Mercury, Steve Leonard as Brian May, John Cappadona as Roger Taylor and Randy Gregg as John Deacon.

The original line-up of Queen released 15 studio albums between 1973 and 1995 including their 1975 masterpiece “A Night at the Opera.”

Along with the smash hit “Bohemian Rhapsody,” Queen was known for Freddie Mercury’s theatrical stage presence and their arena rock anthems including “We Will Rock You,” “We Are the Champions,” “Under Pressure,” “Another One Bites the Dust” and “Killer Queen.”

Tickets are $29.50 and $39.50 plus applicable service charges and are available online at www.ticketmaster.com and at the Westbury box office. Event, date and time subject to change.
