Arts council hosting auction of artwork

The Huntington Arts Council recently announced “Auction on Main — Art Auction Fundraiser,” where an opening reception will take place on Friday, Nov. 11 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., and closing reception on Friday, Dec. 2 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
This is a free event and refreshments will be served. All are welcome to attend.
“Auction on Main is a very important event for us” Executive Director Marc Courtade said. “As a non for profit we are reliant on the generosity of our membership, partners and the community — this is a fun, engaging way to show the talent of our supporters and provide the general public with a unique way to support the arts and the Art Council.
Both the Opening and Closing Receptions are open to the general public and have a great turnout.”
This event runs a full three weeks providing the public with the opportunity to come to the gallery and place a silent auction bid on any of the over 40 pieces of artwork donated by a variety of accomplished artists — such as Shain Bard, Michael Fairchild, Holly Gordon, Bunny Hoest, Kasmira Mohanty and Constance Sloggatt Wolf, according to a press release from the Huntington Arts Council.
In addition to the beautiful art work, there will also be raffle tickets available for purchase for items that have been provided by local merchants and businesses.
Proceeds help support the exhibition program.
The auction and raffle close at 7 p.m. on the evening of the closing reception.
