Chorus to perform annual winter concert

The Island Now

The Huntington Men’s Chorus will be performing its 68th Annual Winter Holiday Concert on Saturday, Dec. 3 at 8 p.m. at Huntington High School.

The chorus has been entertaining Long Island audiences since its origin in 1949, according to a press release from the Huntington Men’s Chorus.

They perform three formal concerts per year with programs that include Broadway medleys, sea chanteys, spirituals, classical pieces as well as sacred and patriotic music.

They also participate in religious services and community events throughout the island.

A yearly Huntington Men’s Chorus scholarship is also presented to a graduating senior in one of the Huntington Township high schools who has demonstrated both a continuing interest in choral music and a commitment to charitable work in the community.

This season, the Huntington Men’s Chorus will feature the music of Andrew Lloyd Weber, John Rutter and pay a tribute to John Denver.

They will also perform a collection of Christmas and Chanukah songs and the audience will be invited to join a holiday sing-a-long.

They will be joined by pianist Alex Pryrody.

Tickets are available at the door or on their website HuntingtonMensChorus.Org.
