NOTICE TO BIDDERS
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT sealed Bids for construction of the Greenway Terrace Water Main Project will be received by the Board of Directors of the Water Authority of Great Neck North (the “Authority”) at the Authority’s office, attention Secretary, at 50 Watermill Lane, Great Neck, New York 11021 until 11:00 AM Eastern Daylight Time (EDT) on Thursday, August 24, 2017. The Authority will publicly open all bids on the same day at 11:00 AM, EDT.
The work consists of furnishing all labor, equipment, materials and incidentals required to install approximately 860 linear feet of new 12-inch water main, hydrants, and valves, and the cutting and capping of the existing mains, as specified in the Contract Documents. The work will also include flushing, disinfection, and testing of all work.
The Contract Documents may be examined at:
• Water Authority of Great Neck North, 50 Watermill Lane, Great Neck, NY 11021.
• Camp Dresser McKee & Smith (CDM Smith), 60 Crossways Park Drive West, Woodbury, NY 11797.
Contract Documents may be obtained from the CDM Smith office at 11 British American Boulevard, Albany, NY 12110, (518) 782-4500, either hard copy or CD. A fee of $50 in cash, bank or certified check payable to the Water Authority of Great Neck North will be required for each hard copy set, and a fee of $25 in cash, bank or certified check payable to the Water Authority of Great Neck North will be required for each CD. Bidders requesting the Contract Document by mail shall include an additional non refundable check payable to the Water Authority of Great Neck North in the amount of $15 per set to cover costs of handling and mailing, unless an account is provided to cover shipping costs.
Each Bid must be accompanied by a certified bank check drawn on a bank doing business in New York made payable to the order of Water Authority of Great Neck North in a sum equal to FIVE PERCENT OF THE BID as it bid security to assure the Bidder’s commitment to that, if its bid is accepted, it will enter into a contract and provide the required bonds and insurance documents as set forth in the Instructions to Bidders. NO BID BONDS WILL BE ACCEPTED.
Bidders may not withdraw their Bids for a period of 45 days after the actual date of the opening of the Bids. The Successful Bidder must furnish a 100 percent Performance Bond and a 100 percent Payment Bond with a surety company acceptable to the Owner.
Wage rates for this Project are subject to the minimum wage rates as per New York State Prevailing Wage Schedule.
The Owner reserves the right to waive any informality in or to reject any or all Bids if deemed to be in its best interest.
