The Plandome Manor Board of Trustees held a public hearing Tuesday on a proposed $36,204 payment to renew a one-year fire service contract, Village Clerk Randi Malman said.

The proposed contract between the village and the Port Washington Fire Department increased $500 from last year, Malman said.

She said the Port Washington Fire Department covers a portion of southeast Plandome Manor that borders Flower Hill. The remainder of the village receives fire service from the Manhasset-Lakeville Fire Department.

Homes covered by the Port Washington Fire Department pay a tax that helps the village budget for the contract, Malman said. She did not know the cost per household of that tax.

Plandome Manor has contracted with the Port Washington Fire Department since the early 1900s.
