2 NHP businesses robbed in 2 days

Two New Hyde Park businesses were robbed in separate incidents late Sunday night and Monday afternoon, Nassau County Police reported.

On July 6 at approximately 11 p.m., a man entered the Grab & Go at 272-08 Union Turnpike and demanded cash from the register, police said.

Police said the man threatened the clerk with a weapon but did not display one. 

The clerk gave the robber an undetermined amount of cash and the suspect fled southbound on Lakeville Road.  

Police said there were two employees in the store at the time and no injuries were reported.

On July 7 at 1:48 p.m., police said a man entered The Barn at 938 Hillside Avenue, approached the store’s 25-year-old employee, and ordered her away from counter into the bathroom. 

The employee complied as the robber removed an unknown amount of money from the cash register and fled on foot westbound behind adjacent stores.  .

Police said no injuries occurred in The Barn robbery.

Police described the suspect in the July 7 robbery as a white male, 5-feet, 7-inches tall, blue eyes, thin build, wearing a mask with a skull imprint, a tan T-shirt, dark gloves, shorts and sneakers.

Police described the Grab & Go robber as a male white, 30 to 35 years old.
