The Island Now

The 4th grade Chiefs lacrosse Team went on the road this past weekend and squeezed out a 10-9 win against the Farmingdale Hawks in a tightly played game.

This brings the young Chiefs season record to 7-0.

The Chiefs offense started off slow trailing 3-1 early, but after taking a time out to talk things over, the Chiefs came alive.

The Chiefs scoring was provided by midfielders Michael O’Connell (4 goals, 3 assists), Matt Sluka (2 goals), Thomas Albig (2 goals, 1 assist), and Chiefs Attackmen Marc Chiappone (2 goals).

Chiefs Midfielder’s Luke Baskind, Joey Ruscillo and Darien Lloyd worked the ball around in the offensive zone with precision and fought hard for ground balls with Chiefs attackmen Ryan Dieguez, Jon Hahami, Jack O’Brien, Sean Browne and Ryan Calderone. Defensemen Michael LaGinestra, Lance Costa, Joseph Tallini, Dylan Vincenti, James Reardon and Richie Vento pounded the Hawks, as they protected Chiefs net minder Anthony Giunta (7 saves) on their way to victory.
