Abertson-Herricks opens 2015 season

Accompanied by the Albertson Fire Department and local police officers, the Albertson-Herricks Little League kicked off the 2015 season with their annual parade on Saturday, April 18.

Boys and girls, ranging from 4 to 13 years old wore their team uniforms with pride as they marched down Willis Avenue toward Caemmerer Park in Albertson.

Refreshments were served as Town of North Hempstead Congressman Peter Zuckerman and Town Clerk Wayne Wink helped lead the Pledge of Allegiance and National Anthem with all of the Little League players and parents.

Albertson Herricks Little League also welcomed The Baseball Hunters, a local charity started by Lexi & Kyle Hunter, who were present collecting new and used baseball equipment for less fortunate children across the country.

The season has officially begun and games in all divisions are currently in full swing.  All and all the league couldn’t have asked for a better opening day.
