Adelphi kicks off performing arts season

The Adelphi University’s Performing Arts Center season kicks off with Melissa Riker ’96 and her Kinesis Project dance theatre performing Secrets and Seawalls on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 12 and 13 and multicultural song with the Libana World Music Ensemble Saturday, Sept. 13.  

On Friday, Sept. 19 join Tony-winning Broadway, film and television star Patina Miller for an intimate evening of Broadway tunes and classic R&B music. Other guest artists this fall include the New York Virtuoso Singers Quartet, Chet-Yeng Loong, Chiara String Quartet, Basetrack Live and Trio Solisti.

In addition to guest artists, Adelphi’s students take the stage with the “Best of Broadway,” “Twelfth Night,” “Fall Dance Adelphi: Kylián,” the Adelphi Symphony Orchestra and more.  

All-vocal group, guest artist Blue Jupiter, will perform on Friday, Nov. 17 with Paws & Rewind, Adelphi’s own a cappella group opening the show. The season continues with a variety of showcases and productions before wrapping up with a staged reading of A Christmas Carol on Sunday, Dec. 21.

The fall schedule also includes a series of opera and other cultural events on film featuring the work of Mozart, Puccini, Renee Fleming and more.

Adelphi University’s Performing Arts Center is one of Long Island’s premier cultural arts venues for entertainment of all kinds.
