Bass has credentials

The Island Now

I write to explain why I believe that voters should select Jeff Bass for the open seat on the town council for the 4th District. The 4th District includes the villages of Roslyn, Roslyn Estates, Munsey Park, North Hills, Great Neck, Great Neck Gardens, Kensington, Kings Point, Thomaston, and the unincorporated areas of Manhasset and Great Neck, including Great Neck Gardens and Allenwood.

Mr. Bass’s credentials speak for themselves:

• an accountant.

• a member of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Great Neck who has been elected three times to that position.

• a member of the Manhasset Bay Protection Committee.

• a founder of the Great Neck Arts Center.

• a founder of the Great Neck Business Circle.

• a past president of the Long Island Chapter of the American Jewish Committee.

• an Associate Trustee of the North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System.

• an Advisor to the U.S. Department of Commerce and Department of Energy.

• a Teacher of Public Finance and Public Administration at Queens College.

While I could continue, it should be obvious from the foregoing, truncated list of Jeff’s personal and professional accomplishments that he is an executive with a track record of both contributing to the community and initiating measures that protect others. He is also a caring, thoughtful, honest person who has both the intellect and the professional experience to be able to help the town council to more effectively deploy public funds on behalf of its citizens.
