Bravo Great Neck News for excellent coverage of all GN

The Island Now

I was born and raised in Great Neck and have lived here all my life.

The only newspaper we had for local news was the Great Neck News. Our telephone book was thin and had a red cover. The phone numbers had only four numbers. There was the county!

We had two elementary schools, Arrandale School on the North side of Great Neck and Kensington School on the South side of Great Neck, kindergarten through sixth grade and Great Neck High School, seventh to 12th grades.

As Great Neck grew and grew the Great Neck Record was born and we had two local papers! As years passed, the Great Neck Record got bigger and the Great Neck News got smaller. You could even pick up the Great Neck News for free in many stores.

In the past few years, the Great Neck News not only came back to life better than ever, but is truly a local paper that is covering articles in Great Neck that we normally wouldn’t know about.

Bravo Great Neck News to the editor and staff for bringing back the past, but for also giving your readers more insight and knowledge and news, plus more about our community and the people who live here.
