Brooklyn man arrested for alleged connection with Floral Park, NHP car chase

Police arrested a second Brooklyn man Friday in connection with a car chase that led police through Floral Park and New Hyde Park.

Marcus Miller, 18, was set to be arraigned Jan. 29 on three counts of fourth-degree grand larceny after an investigation led to his arrest at home Friday morning.

Police said Miller was involved with the Jan. 19 incident when Justin Kirlew, 18, of Brooklyn crashed an allegedly stolen car Floral Park and Nassau County police chased him through the two villages.

After running the white Nissan into a tree and pole near Jericho Turnpike and South Third Street, police said, Kirlew and a second suspect, described then as a black man wearing a gray jacket and hat, both fled the scene on foot.

Kirlew was arrested a short time later. Police did not say whether Miller was the second suspect who had run westbound on Jericho Turnpike.

When Kirlew was arrested, police found he had credit cards and wallets he had allegedly stolen in Elmont.

Kirlew was arraigned Jan. 20 on three counts of fourth-degree grand larceny, second-degree reckless endangerment, leaving the scene of an accident and several vehicle and traffic violations.

Bail was set at $10,000 cash or $20,000 bond. He is due back in court Feb. 4.
