Two local businessmen have been elected to join the Nassau County Museum of Art’s board of trustees, museum officials said Tuesday.

Gib Chapman, managing director and market executive for U.S. Trust’s Long Island Market, and Stanley Kreitman, a senior advisor and advisory board member of Signature Bank, now bring the non-profit’s board of trustees to 19 members.

With the U.S. Trust, Chapman leads more than 40 professionals as part of its investment management division and works with clients as a private advisor. Chapman is a former principal and business development officer for Bessemer Trust, and serves on the board of the Green Vale School, North Shore Land Alliance and Planting Fields Arboretum.

Kreitman, who has residences in Roslyn and New York City, has served as chairman of the board of Manhattan Associates, LLC and president of the United States Banknote Corporation. Kreitman has also served as part of the New York City Board of Corrections, New York City Trust for Cultural Development, the Police Athletic League, Nassau County Crimestoppers, New York Institute of Technology and the North Shore-LIJ Health System.

The Nassau County Museum of Art, located within the Village of Roslyn Harbor, is governed by a privately-elected board of trustees and funded through a combination of admission fees, parking, annual membership fees, special events and private and corporate donations, in addition to state and federal grants.
