Cancer survivors looking good

The Island Now

Look Good…Feel Better held a reunion for patients and volunteers at June Bleich’s home in Manhasset Hills on July 15. Look Good…Feel Better is a non-profit that looks to help improve breast cancer patients’ self-esteem and quality of life during cancer treatment.

The organization teaches beauty techniques, like hair and makeup, to woman to help them deal with trying times. The event included local politicians: Senator Jack Martins, Town Clerk Leslie Gross, Councilman Angelo Ferrara, and Councilwoman Dina DeGiorgio, who each vowed to help raise awareness throughout the Town of North Hempstead and Long Island.

On October 16 of this year, these same politicians will be sponsoring a mobile mammogram truck at Clinton G. Martin Park in New Hyde Park. For more information on Look Good…Feel Better please visit https://lookgoodfeelbetter.org.
