Cheat story unfair

The Island Now

I was extremely distressed to read Jessica Ablamsky’s article “School district initiated DA investigation” (10/7/11), not because of the topic, but for the insinuation in her article. To mention that Ms. Esagoff “recently changed her name” implies that the name change was associated with her son’s arrest. In fact, the name change took place more than nine months ago.

And what does the investigation and arrest have to do with the library referendum scheduled on Oct. 25? To even mention the upcoming referendum in an article about SAT cheating is inflammatory and irresponsible reporting. I would expect much better from a reporter for the Great Neck News.
