Cops arrest 2 connected to Floral Park burglary

 two people in Elmont Thursday in connection with four burglaries there and in Floral Park.

An investigation by the police department’s Burglary Pattern Team concluded that Richard Ryan, 40, of Elmont, burglarized a home on Geranium Avenue in Floral Park on March 31 and three others in Elmont on April 25, May 2 and May 4, police said.

Police also arrested Sheila Rivera, 34, at a Valley Stream Walmart, where she was trying to make purchases with a credit card stolen in one of the burglaries, police said.

Detectives found stolen laptop computers, jewelry and credit cards at Ryan’s Evans Avenue home, where Rivera also lives. Police said they are unsure of their relationship.

Police arrested Ryan after he exited Goldis Pawn Shop in Hempstead, where police said he was trying to pawn some of the stolen items.

Ryan is charged with six counts of second-degree burglary, and Rivera is charged with one count of fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property.

Both were scheduled to be arraigned Thursday at First District Court in Hempstead.
