Nassau County police said officers are continuing to search for a man who this week broke into a Village of Great Neck Plaza apartment before jumping from the building’s second-story window.

At about 3 p.m. on Tuesday an unidentified man “pried open” the door to the apartment building on 13 Welwyn Road, police said.

After entering the building, police said the man was seen jumping from a second-floor window before fleeing the neighborhood with a “noticeable limp.”

Police said on Wednesday that nothing appeared to have been stolen from the apartment building.

The unidentified man is described as 6-foot-1 with blonde hair, a goatee and was last seen wearing a black shirt, shorts and backpack, police said.

Anyone with information on this incident is asked to contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.
