Cops on hunt for pair in NHP bank robbery

The Major Case Bureau of the Nassau County Police Department is investigating a bank robbery that occurred in New Hyde Park last Friday afternoon, according to police. 

Robbery squad detectives said that two men identified as white males entered Valley National Bank, located at 699 Hillside Ave., and gave a demand note to the tellers. 

The tellers, the detectives said, complied with the request and gave the two men an undetermined amount of money. Seven tellers were working at the time, and none have reported injuries. 

The suspects fled westbound on Hillside Avenue following the robbery. 

Police described the first subject as in his 40s, 6’ tall with facial hair, wearing a gray baseball cap, dark sunglasses, a gray T-shirt, a red long-sleeved shirt, dark pants and gloves. 

They said the second subject is described as in his 40s, wearing a gray baseball cap, gold framed bifocal glasses, blue-hooded sweatshirt, dark pants, and gloves.
