Country suffering from unneeded spending

The Island Now

In response to Joan Swirsky’s letter in the 5/24/13 letter to the Great Neck News.

Your response to Dan Glaun in re: The Great Neck School system budget intimated that a staggering $40,000 per year could possibly be spent on a student and to boot, possibly private tutors might be used to educate our children.

It seems to me that throughout this great land of ours which I and my family have defended with our health and lives, money is being spent for frivolous, cockabarley projects from educating inner city thugs to funding Egypt’s air force, which will probably rain bombs on Israel without warning, somehow Great Neck can afford to spend $40,000 per child to give them a chance to survive in the uncertain future that awaits them in the climate we have created for them.

Just telling, since in your letter you ended with the phrase “Just asking.”
