Nassau County is presenting a day of what it calls fun, sun and blockbuster music at “Concert in the Park – Nassau Helping Nassau” to aid Hurricane Sandy victims.

The concert, being produced by Bobby G – a Wantagh resident and 9/11 first responder, will be held at Lakeside Theatre in Eisenhower Park on Saturday, June 8 from noon to 9:30 p.m.

“Thousands of Nassau County homes and small businesses were devastated by Hurricane Sandy,” Nassau County Executive Edward Mangano said.  “Concert in the Park brings together many local musicians under one roof to help raise money for the hundreds of families and seniors who are struggling to recover. I thank all the musicians and Bobby G for volunteering their time to benefit our neighbors.”

Musical performances begin with the head of the No. 1 Billy Joel cover band Big Shot, Michael DelGuidice.

Performances also include Uppercut – the Ultimate Horn Powered Band, Five Stone, That ‘70s Band, Rapid Fire, legendary Beatles Cover Band Strawberry Fields, The Slim Kings featuring longtime Billy Joel drummer Liberty DeVitto, Killer Joe and the Lido Soul Revue, the County Line Country Band and Disco Unlimited.

Corporate sponsors include Guitar Center and Sound Entertainment NY, both of whom are donating the backline band equipment, sound system and production management services respectively.

Other sponsors include, Buffalo Wild Wings, Corporate Coffee Systems, P.C. Richard & Son, Galleria Invitations Favors and Tuxedos, Distinctive Kitchens & Baths, Inc., Iavarone Bros. Quality Foods, MRW Group Inc. Insurance and Elsa Ilibassi and Family.
