Driesen to peform at Plaza concert

The Island Now

Jay Cee Driesen will be performing this Tuesday, Aug. 20 at the gazebo in Firefighters’ Park.

A vocalist, songwriter and producer from Long Island, Jay Cee Driesen has been entertaining audiences with her bold signature voice since she burst onto the musical scene.

Jay Cee belts out popular favorites such as “At Last,” (Etta James), “Hero,” (Enrique Iglesias), “New York, New York,” (Liza Manelli), “My Funny Valentine,” (Sarah Vaughn) and many other classics.

“JC’s harmonious, rhythmic sense of timing and tone make her one of the most sought after performers on Long Island,” said Mayor Jean Celender. “The audience simply loves her and I am sure we will as well.”

Whether it is a sensual ballad, cabaret favorite or a chart-smashing Broadway hit, make sure to come to Firefighters’ Park this Tuesday at 8 p.m. to hear Jay Cee Driesen’s revue, “From Broadway to Hollywood.”

In addition to “From Broadway to Hollywood,” the Village of Great Neck Plaza and the Great Neck Business Improvement District will be holding a meet and greet for the new merchants who have joined the fine shops, boutiques, service establishments and restaurants who currently call the Plaza home.

Starting at 7 p.m., at Firefighters’ Park, concert-goers are invited to meet and greet these new businesses prior to the evening’s concert. Tables will be set up for businesses to hand out goodies, coupons and other promotional materials to concert-goers. This will be an opportunity to interact with the businesses recently opened within the Plaza.

The show is at 8 p.m. In the case of inclement weather, the concert performance will be moved to the Great Neck Senior Center (80 Grace Avenue). Check with village staff at the Village Hall on the day of the concert, or call (516) 482-4500. There will a recorded message if the day’s scheduled concert has been moved from Firefighters’ Park to the Senior Center. There will also be an announcement on the village website, www.greatneckplaza.net, in the case of inclement weather.
