A pair of East Hills lifeguards revived a child at the village’s pool on Sunday using CPR, Mayor Michael Koblenz said in an email to residents Monday.
Lifeguards Dylan Jensen and Matthew Brendel “were truly remarkable,” Koblenz wrote, and the child, “thankfully, is now fine.”
They will be honored at an upcoming board of trustees meeting, Koblenz said.
“Thanks to their decisiveness and heroic acts, the child is now fine,” he added.
Village parks director Bill Gavin will also be honored, Koblenz wrote, having “handled the response masterfully.”
