Former SUNY Old Westbury right-handed pitcher Tim Ingram earned his first professional win Thursday evening in the Hudson Valley Renegades’ 3-0 victory over the Mahoning Valley Scrappers.

The 21-year-old Ingram pitched two innings of relief, scattering one hit while striking out one.

On the season, Ingram is 1-1 on the mound with an earned-run average of 1.21. He has pitched 22.1 innings, having allowed 17 hits while recording 14 strikeouts to just five walks.

Over his last 10 outings, Ingram has tossed 20.2 innings, surrendering just 13 hits and two walks while striking out 13 batters for a stunning 0.00 ERA.

Ingram was selected by the Tampa Bay Rays with the 928th overall pick in the 31st round of the 2015 Major League Baseball Draft, June 10.

The Renegades compete in the New York-Penn League as the Rays’ short-season Class A affiliate.

Ingram, a native of Westbury, who played his high school baseball at W.T. Clarke, was a standout pitcher for the Panthers from 2014-15.

He was the second Panther in four years to earn All-America status, when he collected D3Baseball.com All-American Honorable Mention honors in 2015.

As a senior, Ingram pitched the Panthers to the 2015 Skyline Conference Championship title.  During that season, he was also named first-team ABCA/Rawlings and D3Baseball.com All-New York Region, after being selected as the Skyline Conference Pitcher of the Year for the second-consecutive campaign.

Ingram closed out his collegiate career with a 14-strikeout performance over eight innings in Old Westbury’s 7-5 victory over Baldwin Wallace on May 13, to earn the Panthers’ first NCAA Division III Tournament win since 2000.

During his two-year career at Old Westbury, Ingram struck out 165 batters over 130 innings, en route to a 14-6 record.  In 19 career starts (23 appearances), he tossed eight complete games, including two shutouts and one combined shutout while holding the opposition to a .194 batting average.
