The New Hyde Park Firecats soccer team were crowned Girls Under-12 State Open Cup Champions following their 4-2 win over HBC Sudden Impact from Huntington on June 1 at Stringham Park in LaGrange. The team is now preparing to play at the Regionals from June 28 to July 2 at the University of Rhode Island with the help of a $2,000 donation from Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association.
