If all goes as planned, personal training gym Fitness Revolution will go to the dogs on Sept. 29.

On that day the Garden City Park exercise faciilty will offer free training session during an open house between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. at  its 2111 Hillside Ave. location. And a raffle whose proceeds from the ticket sales going to the ASPCA.

“I’m an animal lover,” said owner Veronica Mauro, in explaining the fundraiser.

Mauro , who owns two dogs, has been soliciting neighboring businesses to contribute prizes to the effort.

Deli King in the Lake Success Mall is donating a $509 gift certificate. Massage Envy, the massage facility in the same mall is offering a free massage. The Modell’s in the mall will offer coupons, with 5 percent of the discount going to the animal protection organization. Luxury Pets, New Hyde Bark Grooming, City Line Florist are also participating, according to Mauro.

“It give them big an opportunity to network through my business,” Mauro said.

The other objective is to draw potential customers into Fitness Revolution to sign up for personalized training programs. Mauro said anyone signing up that Saturday will receive a 15 percent discount off the training package they purchase.

Meanwhile, trainers at the facility will make presentations on proper nutrition to accompany exercise programs, kick-boxing, kettle bell exercise routines and other subjects.

Mauro said she hopes to boost membership and the cause of the ASPCA, but she also helps to increase people’s consciousness about the importance of a fitness regimen.

“I’m doing it to bring more awareness to the community on health and exercise,” she said.

Mauro is not new to showing her commitment to giving back to the community through her business.

At Fitness Revolution’s grand opening three years ago, Mauro raised funds for the Ronald McDonald House. She sponsored an AIDS walk fundraiser two years ago. She also supports Swim Across America, a fundraiser with swimmers plowing through Long Island Sound for sponsorship money that goes for cancer researach.

Mauro’s son, Anthony, who assists her in the business, swims for that cause. He  has also coached the New Hyde Park Little League teams of 7- and 8-year-old boys Fitness Revolution has sponsored the past two years to championships in their division.

“I’m always donating to some charity,” Mauro said.
