A Glen Cove man arrested in late June for videotaping the women’s bathroom at a Glen Head restaurant has been indicted on grand jury charges stemming from two incidents in which he allegedly exposed himself to children.

Edward Ramirez, 43, was arraigned Thursday on a 1st-degree felony charge of sexual abuse as well as three misdemeanor counts of endangering the welfare of a child and two counts of 1st-degree public lewdness. He faces up to seven years in prison if convicted of the top charge.

“It is our job to protect those who cannot protect themselves, especially our children,” said Acting Nassau County District Attorney Madeline Singas, whose office announced the charges.

“This defendant is accused of targeting and exposing himself to young girls at a local supermarket on more than one occasion. We must do everything in our power to keep predators off our streets and away from our kids,” she added.

Ramirez’ attorneys, the Kew Gardens, Queens-based Charles Kelton and Howard Teichner, could not immediately be reached for comment.

Ramirez has been accused of exposing himself to a seven-year-old girl at an undisclosed Glen Cove supermarket on Nov. 24, 2014, and when she ran away he allegedly forced a five-year-old girl to touch him.

When police later notified the public of the incident, Singas’ office said a second family alleged Ramirez exposed himself to an eight-year-old girl at the same supermarket last summer.

Ramirez was arrested on June 24 after he was seen leaving the bathroom of Jack’s Shack restaurant — where he was employed — moments before a woman discovered a cell phone taped under a sink and used it to notify authorities.

In that incident, Ramirez was charged with 2nd-degree attempted unlawful surveillance.

He is due back in court on August 24. Acting Supreme Court Justice Terence Murphy continued Ramirez’ bail at $60,000, bond or cash.
