GN Library needs policy for best sellers

The Island Now

“Fifty Shades Of Grey.”  The Great Neck library ordered 50 copies and put me third on the list of borrowers waiting for that book.

My suggestion about current bestsellers was not to create a separate category of borrowing. It was to keep all books currently on the best-seller list as one week loans and a $1/day fine. A mere four week wait. By halving the time I would have it in 2 weeks and, if not returned on time, the boss would be ahead $1.

You now have quick loans with lots of books on that shelf and maybe one each at four branches. Let them loose.

I read comments about requirements for space. Why cannot the library use current walled space. The idea was to save money not squander it. I like the GN News as a forum. It seems to get attention.
