A Great Neck man was arrested after he allegedly struck and killed a pedestrian on the Long Island Expressway, the New York Police Department reported.

Christian Ludlow, 69, was charged with vehicular manslaughter and driving while intoxicated after allegedly hitting Jordan Savvides, 22, on a stretch of highway near the Little Neck Parkway.

“On arrival we discovered the pedestrian… lying on the ground with severe body trauma,” said an NYPD spokesperson.

Police said the car Ludlow was driving struck Savvides while the younger man was walking on the eastbound side of the LIE early on the morning of Saturday, Dec. 15.

First responders pronounced Savvides dead at on arrival.

Ludlow appeared in Queens Criminal Court Dec. 18, where he did not post his $50,000 bond. He is scheduled to have another hearing Jan. 3.
