On May 17, we will have the opportunity to vote for a change on the Herricks Board of Education. This is not a popularity contest, but both privilege and obligation. It should be taken very seriously. The years ahead predict challenging times in our community. Economically, academically, and socially.
We need a candidate with a strong and sensitive voice representing all factions of Herricks. He has to not be afraid to stand up for what is right and meaningful.
Jim Gounaris is that man. He is an individual who will take a balanced approach to our district’s educational needs while protecting the integrity of the community at large. He will be mindful of our students’ needs, but sensitive to the myriad of families who have been the backbone of our community for decades.
On May 17 we will have the opportunity to make a choice. Make the right one. Vote for the candidate who will work for us and be able to carry us through the years ahead.
