Heckscher fest on June 21, 22

The New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation invites you to join the Long Island State Park Region to kick off the start of summer at the Heckscher Outdoor Festival on Saturday, June 21 and Sunday, June 22 at Heckscher State Park in East Islip. Corporate contributors for this event include 102.3 WBAB and 106.1 WBLI radio stations, and Naudus Communications.

Many exciting activities are scheduled to make this a fun and enjoyable weekend for children of all ages. The festivities begin at 11 a.m. and will continue through 4 p.m. both days. The festival will be filled with family activities, hands-on environmental displays and presentations, programs featuring live animals, children’s arts and crafts and other various exhibits, as well as vendor booths and a rock wall. The vehicle use fee of $8 per car will be in effect.  Parking is free for Empire Pass holders.  

Heckscher State Park is located at the most eastern end of Southern State Parkway in East Islip. For additional information about the festival, please call the Regional Recreation Department at (631) 321-3510, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
