In reading your opinion column “In Herricks the Hunt is On” I was very disturbed that you feel non-residential students are not a problem to a good school district. Also that we should be proud that an illegal student should be entitled to attend our school at our expense. As a second-generation resident and graduate of Herricks I am offended of your statements.
My husband and I struggle to keep up with expenses to live in this school district. Every illegal student at Herricks takes away money and programs from my children’s education.
I think you should rethink and reprint your opinion. We welcome a detective who will root out these illegal non-tax paying students. I wait to see your rebuttal.
