Oboe players of all ages and levels of proficiency are invited to take part in Hofstra University’s 3rd Annual Oboe Day, on Saturday, Oct. 24 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the New Academic Building on Hofstra’s South Campus.
The history of the oboe may be traced back to the mid-17th century. It is a slender woodwind instrument with a conical bore and a double-reed mouthpiece, having a range of three octaves and a penetrating, poignant sound.
Oboe Day activities include: Master Class with Judith Dansker (Professor of Oboe, Hofstra University); Oboe Reed Clinic with Heidi Wolfgang, instrument repair technician;· Mini Private Lessons; Oboe Ensemble (All participants are invited to play!)
