The Island Now

Sid Jacobson JCC will host author Pam Jenoff on May 5 at 10:30 a.m. to discuss her book “The Last Summer at Chelsea Beach” as part of the JCC’s Author Breakfast and Book Signing series.

The book tells the story of Adelia Monteforte who flees Italy for America in the summer of 1941 where she meets and falls for Charlie Connally.

Their hope for a future together is stopped by the war and a tragedy that hits close to home.

Adelia flees to Washington and then war-torn London for a job and finds the chance to redeem lost time, family and love. Her past haunts her and in a final, fateful choice she discovers that the way home may be the path she never suspected.

Jenoff is an international bestselling author of several novels. She previously served as the Special Assistant to the Secretary of the Army at the Pentagon and State Department officer.

Tickets are $40 for Sid Jacobson JCC members and $50 for non-members and can be purchased at www.sjjcc.org.
