The National Council of Jewish Women Lakeville Chapter presented the Great Neck Parent-Child Home Program with its annual donation. Miriam Chatinover, NCJW president, gave the $1,000 gift to the Great Neck Public Schools Board of Education on behalf of the PCHP.

At the presentation, Annette Irby, whose daughter had been in the PCHP and whose granddaughter is currently in the Program, spoke of the benefits of the program, both for the children and their parents/grandparents.

The PCHP has been in the district for over 40 years and NCJW has supported the program since its inception. The PCHP, for eligible 16-month-olds to three-year-olds and their parents/grandparents, is based in the Cumberland Adult Center. Research shows that early-childhood programs such as the PCHP contribute positively to children’s performance in school.
