It is my pleasure to offer my support for my friend, Jonai Singh, in her candidacy for trustee of the Herricks School Board. I have had many opportunities to work with Jonai and have found her to be honest, hardworking and fair. She works well with so many people including those with whom she shares common ideas as well as those with whom she does not.
Jonai has advocated tirelessly for every member of our district, from the senior citizens to our students. Jonai believes, as do I, that every voice counts. And she has a proven record for supporting all. Through her work with the various Herricks PTA units, Jonai has been involved in many fundraising opportunities. Through her work as co-president of the District Council of the PTAs Jonai has, among other accomplishments, promoted and achieved open and vigorous dialogue between the board of education and the community on the vital issue of the school budget.
Through the work of her foundation Jonai has provided many social activities and opportunities for the senior citizens of our community.
As a member of the Indo-US organization, Jonai has been involved in donations to the school district such as much needed audio-visual equipment to the Herricks Middle School. And, as a business woman, Jonai has shown her ability to successfully manage a budget.
These are just a few of Jonai’s many accomplishments. I am confident that as a member of the Herricks Board of Education, Jonai will keep up the good work. In what I am sure will be very difficult times ahead, Jonai will continue to advocate for each and every member of our community. Jonai shares our values and our concerns and will be a calm, intelligent, independent and fair-minded voice on the board of education.
