Judea menorah hit by vandalism

An unknown vandal damaged the large menorah that stands outside Temple Judea in Manhasset, according to Nassau County Police.

Detectives are investigating the episode as a suspected bias incident, the NCPD release said.

Maxine Peresechensky, the temple’s executive director, said she believed the act to be intentional and that there were scuff marks on the menorah following the incident.

““It wasn’t totally knocked over, it was tilted backwards. It’s been totally repaired,” Peresechensky said.

Police were called as a precaution, she said, noting that the temple had never experienced vandalism or anti-Semitic incidents
