Village of Great Neck Mayor Ralph Kreitzman was last week appointed to his first full term as president of the Nassau County Village Officials Association.

Kreitzman’s service as president of the Nassau County Village Officials Association began last July when he was appointed by the executive committee to fill the unexpired term of former Village of Rockville Centre Mayor Mary Bossart. He was elected to his first full term during the NCVOA’s organizational meeting last Thursday.

“I am honored that my peers have confidence in me and our officers to continue leading our organization” Kreitzman said. “Village government is the government closest to the people – the most efficient and effective vehicle for delivering services to residents.”

The mayor of the Village of Great Neck since 2007, Kreitzman has served as a village trustee and deputy mayor. He was also a member of the village’s architectural review committee and was chair of its planning board.

Kreitzman currently serves as vice president of the Great Neck Village Officials Association and is one of 10 directors of the Water Authority of Great Neck North.

In April of 2011, Kreitzman was appointed as one of 16 voting members of the New York Conference of Mayors and Municipal Officials’ executive committee.

NYCOM represents more than 590 municipalities and 7,000 local officials across the state.

With the 64 incorporated villages and 430,000 residents that the NCVOA represents, Kreitzman said he in eager to continue his leadership of the county’s village officials.

“The NCVOA has played an integral role in advocating for village residents,” Kreitzman said. “I look forward to working with all village officials in ensuring we remain a strong voice for our residents, both in Nassau County and the state of New York.”

Before becoming NCVOA president, Kreitzman served as the organization’s treasurer and second vice president.

Kreitzman has been associated with the international law firm of Hughes Hubbard & Reed LLP, based in Manhattan, for the past four decades, having served as associate, partner, past chair of the worldwide Real Estate Group, and currently senior counsel. He has been active in New York City and state bar associations, authored articles for professional publications and has lectured regarding real estate law.
