The Long Island Tigers 11u White travel baseball team won first place at the NJBL Summer Slam Tournament held Aug. 16 and 17 at Lake Ronkonkoma Park.
The Tigers swept the tournament, defeating the North Shore Blue Devils, 9-5, and the Selden Hammerheads, 12-3, in the qualifying round on Aug. 16, and then defeating the North Shore Blue Devils again, 3-2, in the championship game on Aug. 17.
Matthew Feingold of Roslyn pitched four innings of no-hit ball against the Hammerheads and struck-out eight batters.
