A man appearing in county Criminal Court in Mineola on Nov. 15 for a sexual assault in August was arrested connection with two similar attacks, Nassau County police said.

Ramone Smith, 23, of 10 Washington St. in Hempstead was charged with predatory sexual assault, criminal sexual act 1st degree, sexual abuse 1st Degree, and criminal possession of a weapon 3rd degree stemming from the two latest assaults.

Sometime during August 2013, Smith allegedly invited a 19-year-old woman through the Internet to his residence.

Police said the woman complied and Smith began to touch her in a sexual manner. Smith then displayed a razor knife, and a struggle ensued during which the woman gained control of the knife and fled after the elevator doors opened, police said.

Smith was also charged for an assault on another 19-year-old woman he invited to his home through the internet sometime in August or September 2013, police said.

He allegedly led the female to the roof of the building where he displayed a box cutter and sexually assaulted her.

Smith was appearing in court on charges that he assaulted a 31-year-old female who he had invited to his residence through the internet on Aug. 28.

Police said Smith then escorted the woman to the roof where he displayed a razor knife and sexually assaulted her.
