Man robbed, pistol-whipped in Mineola, police say

Police are seeking two men who they say robbed and pistol-whipped another man in Mineola on Tuesday night.

The pair approached the man, 25, as he was walking west on East Old Country Road at 11:55 p.m. Tuesday, Nassau County police said.

One of the suspected robbers brandished a handgun and used it to hit the man on his head and mouth, cutting open his lip, police said.

The robbers took the man’s cell phone and some cash, along with other property, before fleeing in an unknown direction, police said.

Police described the suspects as black men, but did not provide any other identifying details.
