Marco’s Waterfront Grill in Port Washington closes

Marco’s Waterfront Grill, a seafood restaurant that overlooked Manhasset Bay in Port Washington, closed on Monday, according to a message on its website.

“We are closed,” the message said. “We will miss the wonderful friends we made.”

The restaurant, which occupied the dockside space at 43 Orchard Beach Blvd. in the Brewer Capri Marina East, opened last March.

The owner, Marco Minuto, could not be reached for comment.

The waterfront site has played host to a number of restaurants, including RiverFish, which open in 2014, and Aquarelle 45, which only stayed open for five months. Before that, the space was occupied by Marino’s on the Bay, DiMaggio’s on the Bay, Latitudes and P.W.’s Chowderhouse.

Marco’s was located in a waterfront restaurant-heavy area, competing with Butler’s Flat Clam Shack, Marino’s on the Bay, La Motta’s Restaurant and Louie’s Oyster Bar and Grille — all popular spots.
