Village of Manorhaven Mayor Giovanna Giunta and Trustee Kevin Gately are apparently not seeking re-election in June, according to Village Clerk Leslie Gross.

Gross said neither Giunta nor Gately had filed petitions as of Wednesday morning.

She said that they had until 5 p.m. Wednesday to file for two-year terms.

Former Manorhaven Mayor Gary Pagano and current Trustee James Avena have both filed for mayor, Gross said.

Trustee Priscilla von Roeschlaub was among four candidates who filed for two open trustee positions.

She will be joined on the ballot by residents Barbara Ruemenapp, Roy Smitheimer and Kenneth Kraft.

In Sands Point, incumbent trustees Lynn Najman and Peter Forman as well as Village Justice Alyson Adler filed for re-election and will run unopposed.

The trustees are running for two-year terms; Adler is seeking a four-year term.

The village of Sands Point will hold elections on Tuesday, June 21 from 12  to 9 p.m. at the Village Hall. The village of Manorhaven will hold elections on June 21 from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the Village Hall.

All positions are unpaid.
